(T - 1, 2, 3) Breathlessness during Pregnancy
Sometimes I feel Breathless, is this normal to feel?
It’s normal to feel breathless during pregnancy, especially in the 2nd Trimester.
Possible reasons are:
Hormonal Changes: Pregnancy hormones, such as progesterone, can affect your respiratory system,
Increased Blood Volume: Your blood volume increases during pregnancy to support both you and your growing baby. This can result in increased blood flow and changes in the cardiovascular system, which may contribute to a feeling of breathlessness,
Growing Uterus: As uterus expands to accommodate the growing baby, it puts pressure on the diaphragm (the muscle responsible for breathing), making it feel more difficult to take deep breaths,
Elevated Metabolism: Pregnancy increases your metabolic rate, and your body may need more oxygen. This increased demand can contribute to a sensation of breathlessness.
Try to take a Deep breath (If you can)!! Conscious breathing really helps!*
