Growth of the fetus
The progressive growth of the fetus has been explained in detail in Ayurved. This growth can now be seen through modern techniques. It is amazing how ancient Indian medical science was able to describe the growth of the fetus so accurately even thousands of years ago.
During the first month, the embryo resembles a ball of kapha, and is shapeless.
In the second month, the embryo increases in density, and slowly becomes down, oval, or shaped like a teardrop.
In the Third month, the tiny round fetus develops a tail, two arms, two legs and a head, and appears to have five different parts. Other organs and senses develop at a microscopic level at this time.
